New BEERginnings!

For those of you that have not heard, a new owner has come forward and the Engine Room will be continuing in its current form for the foreseeable future…we will continue to sell an ever changing selection of Cask Ale, Craft Beer, Draft Cider and Artisan Spirits as well as hosting a variety of events

A consortium of customers have decided that they don’t want to bar to close and are sorting out a new lease. The plan is for there to be a seamless transition at the beginning of November and you will not notice anything has changed!

By way of a farewell and to raise a toast to the future, Lisa & I will be at the bar on both Saturday 28th October and Saturday 4th November if you would like to pop in for a drink. We also have live music on both days in the early evening.

For a full list of events see here

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us over the last 5 years; from our opening in Feb ’19, through the Covid Pandemic that started almost exactly a year later, and as we went though various levels of re-opening and Covid Tiers, to get to where we are today. It’s been a great journey and a pleasure getting to know you all!

Many thanks to all our staff, that have helped us on our journey.

I’d also like to thank the various local musicians that have supported us over the 5 years; sadly, some of them are no longer with us, but their names will continue on our “wall-of-honour”.

Meanwhile see you on the 28th or 4th, if not before!!

  1. Dear John & Lisa,

Thank you for having the vision and for creating the Engine Room and to Sarah for presiding over her club on a Friday afternoon, of which I have been proud to be a member. You were also life savers during the Covid lockdown delivering a range of fine beers to my doorstep. I’m very pleased to hear that this wonderful micro pub will be continuing thanks to the efforts of the gallant consortium of locals who have worked hard to make it happen. However, I’m sure I’m not alone in saying you will both be sorely missed.

All the very best for the future.

    David
